Celebrating Odile Faludi’s Life and Legacy

Today, we don’t mourn Odile Faludi—we celebrate her.

Diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer three years ago, she refused to let it define her. Every extra day was a blessing, and she fought for each moment with courage, humor, and an attitude of gratitude.

One of her greatest joys was witnessing both her children, Richard and Dominique, get married. She lived for love, family, and making others feel valued

Negativity? She had no time for it—believing it was worse than cancer.

Odile focused on joy, learning, and lifting others up.

Some of Odile’s gems πŸ’Ž

πŸ’Ž “I’m not done yet,” she would say with a wink, proceeding to squeeze another day of living and being grateful

πŸ’Ž When doctors told her she would not make her daughters wedding she said “you don’t know who you are dealing with”

πŸ’Ž She often said that every sunrise meant “we’re still in the game, let’s make it count.” This relentless optimism wasn’t naΓ―ve; it was courageous. By choosing gratitude over bitterness, Odile transformed her struggle into an inspiration

πŸ’Ž “it’s not about what challenges life throws at you - and it will - it’s how you deal with those that count”

πŸ’ŽOdile loved seeing people thrive. She believed in lifting others up, never tearing anyone down. Even as she quietly fought her own battles, she remained a pillar of support to those around her  reminding us all to keep going, stay strong, and to be grateful.

πŸ’Ž Odile was determined to absorb knowledge and experience life to the fullest - and as a lifelong learner , she encouraged everyone around her to do the same. Have a passion project waiting in the wings? Odile would urge you to go for it now, with her characteristic enthusiasm. She quipped, “If I’m still here, I’ve still got things to do and lessons to learn—bring it on!”  That zest for growth and self-improvement is a part of her legacy that will continue to motivate us.

πŸ’Ž “We all have 2 lives , the 2nd one starts when you realise you only have 1 !!”

Odile taught us three powerful lessons:

1. Cherish the ones you love. Family first, always…. And as Allen Pathmarajah says “FAMiLY stands for father and mother I love you “

2. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Life isn’t fair, shot happens, but keep going. Be grateful for every moment you have

3. Have fun. Never sweat the small stuff—be grateful for the joy in the moment.

Odile was a fighter, a giver, and a believer in people. Even in hardship, she found reasons to laugh.

Let us  honor her by living with the same resilience, kindness, quest for lifelong learning and joy.

Odile, thank you for showing us how to truly live.

We wish Peter, Richard, Dominique and Partners a long life.

May Odile’s memory be a blessing!
